Derrick, a native of San Diego, became a realtor in 2003, at the start of the end real estate boom in California. So, for him, being successful has always meant working hard and learning as much as possible. He has seen San Diego change from a sleepy navy town of families and retirees with a population of less to 600,000 to a major city of over a million residents. For him, San Diego was a great place to grow up. And after living in San Francisco for fourteen years, it's an even greater place to live. Most of Derrick's business is in the Downtown market, though he has sold property in Hillcrest, Bankers Hill, and North Park, where he has seen the most change for the better.

Having worked seven years in the internet industry in client services related positions, one of which was as real-time web-based customer satisfaction research company, Derrick realizes the value of the Internet and the importance of putting clients first in any industry. Being client focused, building relationships, and focusing on being the expert in certain niche markets are the values upon which Derrick operates his business.

Derrick is thrilled to be partnering with Nuvilla. He is quite impressed with the "think globally, act locally" aspect of their business model – a perfect fit for him. And combing his passion for the internet and experience as real estate agent to become a high-tech realtor is like a dream come true.

In addition, Derrick enjoys playing volley ball in his spare time, and is on the board and a member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Choir San Diego. He has also done some acting and singing in community theatre productions here and in the San Francisco.
